You must complete Form 24G, which is required by the Government of India through the IT department, in order to find out your annual income tax. Accounts Officers must provide this form, which includes information on taxes withheld in the format specified, to a Drawing and Disbursing Officer in order for it to be processed.
Accounting Officers (AOs) are required to report Tax Deducted at Source (TDS). This is done through Form 24G, which compiles TDS information for the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO). The purpose of submitting Form 24G is to ensure accurate TDS reporting to the DDO. AOs need to ensure they follow the correct format for reporting TDS data.
For all natural individuals falling under the tax bracket—including non-residents, jobless natural persons, and taxable persons—this electronic document is required. As per Income Tax Department Notification No. 41/2010, form 24G needs to be provided in order to process income tax for the year. When processing TDS for salaried, non-salaried, or non-resident people, AOs utilize Form 24G. They follow particular guidelines and make sure the format is followed.
Form 24G must be submitted by Pay and Accounts Offices (PAO), District Treasury Offices (DTO), and Check Drawing and Disbursing Offices (CDDO) in accordance with Income Tax Department Notification No. 41/2010, dated May 31, 2010. The government office, PAO/CDDO/DTO (hence referred to as AO), must complete Form 24G if it has paid taxes to the Central Government without a challan associated with a bank deposit.
